AIC’s Heartfelt Contribution to Walk a Mile in My Boots Campaign
Australian Islamic College proudly participated in the Walk a Mile in My Boots 2024 campaign, making a significant impact with the help of over 2,000 participants, including students, staff, and families. Through their collective efforts, AIC raised more than $500,000 for the Hutt St Centre, a charity dedicated to providing essential support to those experiencing homelessness.
Making a Real Difference in the Community
The funds raised will go a long way in supporting individuals who walk through the doors of the Hutt St Centre, offering vital services to improve their lives. The contributions from AIC will help provide:
• 38,461 nutritious meals, ensuring no one has to go hungry.
• 3,390 people will have access to essential health and wellbeing support, including showers, laundry services, and medical care.
• 27,777 social connection programs will help rebuild confidence and a sense of belonging for those in need.
A Testament to Community Spirit and Dedication
The enthusiasm and commitment shown by AIC’s students, staff, and families were central to the success of this initiative. Their dedication to fundraising and participating in the walk truly embodies the spirit of community and compassion.
As a token of appreciation for AIC’s invaluable contribution, the Hutt St Centre has provided a certificate recognizing the school’s role in making the campaign a resounding success.
