Islamic Studies
Islamic Studies
With the blessings of Allah, AIC Adelaide offers both contemporary and Islamic education for our Muslim children in an Islamic environment. The curriculum helps our students to learn contemporary and Islamic education and also, prepares them with good values and a guide to become responsible and productive member of the society they are living in.
AIC Adelaide offers Islamic education from Reception to Year 12 which includes Quranic Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. In the Secondary level, religious study is offered as part of SACE subject known as “Stage I Studies in Religion”. Under this subject, students not only continue understanding Islamic in depth but also have opportunity to explore other religions of the world. A study of religion forms a vital foundation for the study of a society. This is of particular importance in a culturally diverse society. An appreciation of Australian’s multicultural society is limited without an understanding of religion and its influence on human behaviour and the shaping of personal and group identity. Religions and spiritualities are living and dynamic, and students study the ways in which religious adherents participate in, and respond to, current social and moral debates, and issues in communities such as those in Australia.
Most importantly, the universal nature of Islamic studies will prepare the students for the future to vigorously participate in interfaith dialogue and support cooperative, constructive and positive interaction between people of different religions, faiths or humanistic beliefs, both at the individual and institutional levels.
