Assalamu alaikum,

What a fabulous Term 3 Junior Primary and Upper Primary had!

Once again, we cannot thank our parents enough for working with us to ensure we provide the best possible education and well-being support for the AIC Adelaide students.

Book Week Celebrations

On Thursday 25th of August, the Junior and Upper Primary students dressed up as their favourite book characters. The Book Week assembly had a variety of programs which included a Kindergarten, and Reception A presentation. This was followed by the Mayoral Make a Book Reading. The highlight of the assembly was the teacher’s play on the ‘Gingerbread Man’. The celebrations ended with the Book Week Parade. The Book week celebration continued with the Scholastic book fair which found our students perplexed about what to buy as the variety was endless.

Science Week

Mrs. Haider conducted the SASTA Oliphant Science Awards. The students were encouraged to participate in this competition which enabled them to learn new things and expand their scientific knowledge by connecting to the world around them. This is an exciting opportunity for all budding scientists who want to try new things. The winning entries were showcased at Science Alive held at the Adelaide Showgrounds in early August.

Student Representative Council News

The SRC Hutt Street Centre Winter Appeal Fundraiser was organised and run by the JP & UP SRC. The fundraiser activities included JP – Pyjama Day, pre-ordered Snack Packs, a Poppit stall, and sports challenges.

Numeracy Week Celebrations

National Numeracy Week is an annual event promoting the importance of numeracy to future learning, life participation, and work opportunities. To celebrate World of Maths, the Junior Primary students attended the World of Math incursion which presented exciting hands-on educational problem-solving activities. Each session was a guided discovery lesson where the students solved a variety of problems, discovered number patterns, identified geometric properties, thought logically and applied Mathematics to the physical world.

Dental for Schools SA

The dental schools for SA visited AIC Adelaide. The registered students were collected from their respective year levels and free dental checks were conducted.

After School Sports

We are constantly striving to provide an all-around development for your child and to demonstrate their passion and drive to make a positive impact in their lives. Football SA conducted after-school sports for AIC Adelaide. The JP & UP students learnt soccer and had opportunities to keep active and engage in fun and enriching experiences.

Awards

The Junior Primary and Upper Primary students were recognised for demonstrating Growth Mindset dispositions, attitudes, behaviours and always being respectful and safe by receiving the much-awaited Fortnightly Awards.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

The students at AIC Adelaide have been working on completing their reading for the Premier Reading Challenge. The Premier’s Reading Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students and to enable them to experience quality literature. Students will receive their certificates and medals in Term 4.

Bachar Houli Cup Competitions

Students from Upper Primary and High School were able to participate in the Bachar Houli Cup Competitions. Boys and girls were able to compete in football matches against other Islamic schools in Adelaide.

We take this opportunity to wish our students and families a wonderful Term 3 break.
