Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Assalaam-U- Alaikum and a very warm welcome!!

CURRENT FOCUS:

Our current focus is to achieve our goals like develop social skills enhancing children’s interactions, problems solving, negotiating and responding skills in a group/play situation, be able to listen to and respect each other’s feelings. Exploring and learning our core values like always be respectful and safe and determined to succeed.

Activities:

Literacy—Jolly phonics whole alphabet learnt—children identifying sounds, naming the letter, differentiating between upper case and lower case is in progress, capable of recognising letters in their names and practiced writing it. Several activities were conducted in the process of learning and revising these letters.

Numeracy—Oral Numbers 0-40 and writing 1-10, quantities, days of the week, months of the year (In progress), date—understanding the concept via sticker calendar, felt calendar and a digital calendar on smart board, Shapes recognition, construction, sorting, identifying, and colour recognition. Group games: what’s the time Mr wolf? Number rhymes and songs.

Safety: How to keep ourselves safe? Personal space-Concept and how to maintain it? Stranger danger and how to deal with it?

Sustainability: Use of resources sensibly, avoiding wastage eg: paper towel, electricity, serving birds with waste food, using drawing paper for both sides, cleaning our environment – not littering etc. (These activities are followed in routines and discussed through books and discussion at intentional teaching groups

IT: what is a computer? What is a laptop? Learning names of the parts of the laptop/ computer and how to use them

Reminders:

We would kindly request the parents to support us by:

Keeping your child home if feeling unwell.

Supplying a uniform hat for your child from term 4 onwards.

Provide healthy food items that are sufficient to last for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea times for your child. NO NUTS/ ITEMS CONTAINING NUTS, LOLLIES, JELLIES, OR CREAM BISCUITS PLEASE

DONATIONS:

We would be pleased to receive donations of tissue boxes, sheer materials like curtains, and recyclable materials to add to our craft collection such as small boxes, big bottles of soft drinks, cylinders, reels, vinyl, or leather off cuts, cork, straws, wrapping paper, greeting cards, ribbon, envelopes, stamps, stickers, labels.

(We do not accept egg cartons or cartons of items with nuts, as we presently have some children with severe allergies and life-threatening conditions).

Any natural item clean and safe for children to use them in their play and learning activities will be highly appreciated.
